Faith in Action fosters caring relationships between volunteers called to serve and their neighbors. The program mission is to help frail elders and vulnerable adults maintain their independence.
What is Faith in Action®?

Faith in Action is a national interfaith program, pairing volunteers who provide informal caregiving with adults who have long-term healthcare needs. Locally, Faith in Action Community Empowerment (FACE) works with elderly and/or disabled adults, acting as the outreach coordinator for all the congregations, individuals, businesses and agencies involved.

The 5 Program Building Blocks
  • Along with community agencies and organizations, each local program includes faith congregations representative of the local community. Due to the interfaith nature of the program, proselytizing is not permitted.

  • The people providing the services are volunteers.
  • The focus is on non-medical caregiving, such as transportation to and from medical appointments or friendly visiting, as opposed to job training or health education.
  • People with long-term health care needs are the recipients of FACE services.
  • The service is home based as opposed to center or clinic based.
